HealthSelect participants: keep an eye out for your new medical ID card in the mail

All HealthSelectSM plan participants will get a new Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) medical ID card in the mail in November. You are getting the new medical ID card because BCBSTX has added more information for you on the card. When you get your new medical ID card in the mail, check the back of it to see your annual deductible and out-of-pocket maximum amounts.

Remember, any deductibles you might pay and the out-of-pocket maximums reset every January 1. The out-of-pocket maximum amount is the most you will pay for in-network medical care in the 2023 calendar year.

There is no deductible for the HealthSelect of Texas® plan when you use in-network providers. The Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM plan includes both in- and out-of-network deductibles.

Blue Access for MembersSM participant portal

You can access your medical plan benefit information online using your Blue Access for Members participant portal. If you haven’t already, take a few minutes to register for Blue Access for Members with your new medical ID card.

Once registered, you’ll be able to:

  • view your claims,
  • find in-network doctors, hospitals and other providers,
  • choose or change your primary care provider and
  • confirm your prior authorizations and referrals on file.

BCBSTX App

Download the BCBSTX App to access your digital medical ID card and save it to your digital wallet. With the BCBSTX App, your Blue Access for Members account is at your fingertips wherever you are. Text BCBSTXAPP to 33633 to download.
