November is Tobacco Awareness Month: Commit to Health, Choose to Quit Tobacco
Have you been thinking about stopping the use of tobacco? There are resources and support available that can help you get started.
Choose to Quit:
Choose to Quit is a program that allows tobacco users to have their Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP) tobacco-user premiums waived for the plan year. Participants must:
- Discuss stopping tobacco use with their doctor
- Complete an approved cessation course
- Get proper paperwork signed, and
- Submit paperwork to ERS for approval

Well onTarget® Quitting Tobacco Course:
Quitting Tobacco is a 12-week online course on the Well onTarget portal. It is designed to help participant quit using tobacco and stay tobacco-free. The course helps with goal setting, pointing out triggers, and avoiding relapse. Completing the course meets one of the requirements in the Choose to Quit program, to waive the Texas Employees GBP tobacco-user premiums for the year.
To access the Well onTarget course log in to your Blue Access for Members℠ account and click "Well onTarget" under Quick Links.
