Holiday mental health support for HealthSelect participants

Your mental health is just as vital as your physical health. No matter your situation, it’s important to know that as a HealthSelectSM participant, you have support and benefits to help you take care of your mental health and ease the dreaded holiday blues. Support ranges from lessons and exercises you can do on your own, to online and in-person appointments with licensed mental health care providers – based on what’s best for your situation.

 

A large network of providers

In September, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) began managing mental health benefits for HealthSelect of Texas® and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM participants, replacing Magellan Healthcare®.

With this change, as HealthSelect participant, you gained access to about 10,000 additional providers not previously contracted with Magellan. This more than doubles the number of mental health providers available to you. What’s more, you now have just one company to call for medical and mental health benefits questions and one website to visit to view your claims.

Mental health Virtual Visits

With mental health Virtual Visits, you can speak with a licensed mental health professional online any day of the week without having to leave home.

Mental health Virtual Visit appointments are by video conference through either Doctor on Demand® or MDLIVE®. Appointments must be made before and are most often available within five to seven days but could take up to two weeks. 

Normally, mental health Virtual Visits are the same cost as an in-network mental health office visit. However, because of COVID-19, mental health Virtual Visits are covered at 100% — that means there is no cost to you –through December 31, 2020. Well onTarget®

 

Your Well onTarget wellness portal has tools and resources to help you with both your physical and mental health, as well as your general well-being. It features resources like money and weight management tools that may help ease many of the common holiday stressors.

 

Integrated trackers can help you track your physical activity, sleep and even stress level. Self-management programs can help you learn new ways to handle many concerns and conditions through interactive educational activities. If you’re looking for more personalized guidance, Well onTarget can connect you with coaches who give one-on-one coaching on topics such as handling stress, quitting tobacco and improving dietary habits.

 

You can reach Well onTarget through Blue Access for MembersSM on a desktop computer or through the AlwaysOn app on compatible Android and Apple devices.
