Find a Doctor or Hospital

Effective September 1, 2020, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas will manage mental health benefits for HealthSelect of Texas® and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM participants, replacing Magellan Healthcare®. While most mental health care providers who were in-network for Magellan will also be in the HealthSelect network, some will not. However, you may have access to additional providers in the HealthSelect network.

To learn if your mental health care provider will be in-network after September 1,or to find an in-network provider:

  • Select your plan below and enter your provider’s name in the Provider Finder® search bar. In the search results, an “Essential Note” will tell you if your provider will be out-of-network effective August 31, 2020, or
  • Call a BCBSTX Personal Health Assistant at (800) 252-8039, Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. or Saturday 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. CT.
If your provider has not yet contracted to be in the HealthSelect network, you can nominate your provider. For more details about this transition, read these Frequently Asked Questions.

I want to nominate a provider who is not already in the HealthSelect network:

There currently are more than 50,000 providers in the HealthSelect network across the State of Texas, with providers being added on a regular basis. If your current provider is not listed in the HealthSelect network, you can nominate her/him using this form.

Are the providers at my hospital in the HealthSelect network?

Even if a hospital is in the HealthSelect network, the doctors, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other providers who practice at that hospital may not be! It's important to find out if all your providers are in the network before scheduling a surgery or procedure.

If you are planning a visit to a hospital or outpatient facility, these lists of facilities and doctors can help you see the network status for hospital-based doctors in Texas.
