Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) and Baylor Scott and White Health recently announced ongoing discussions about contract negotiations. The current contracts were set to expire July 1, 2024, which would cause Baylor Scott and White providers and facilities to leave the HealthSelectSM network.
You may have recently received a letter stating your Baylor Scott and White provider may choose to leave the HealthSelect network.
We are pleased to announce that we have agreed to extend the provider and facility contracts to Oct. 1, 2024, to help ensure the care you receive is not interrupted while we continue to work on finalizing a longer-term agreement. This three-month extension means Baylor Scott and White providers, hospitals and other facilities will remain in network for HealthSelect participants until Oct. 1, 2024. HealthSelect of Texas® and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM participants do not have to take any special action to see Baylor Scott and White providers through Sept. 30.
Contract negotiations with facilities are a normal process for insurance companies and providers.
