Six ways Blue Access for MembersSM helps you manage your health, your way

The 2023 plan year for your HealthSelectSM benefits started on September 1. The Blue Access for MembersSM participant portal and BCBSTX App give you access to the information you need to make the most of your medical benefits.

An improved user experience

Log in to experience new features that make it even easier to use. Here are six reasons to use Blue Access for Members or the BCBSTX App to manage Your Health, Your Way.

  1. Choose your primary care provider (PCP) and find other in-network providers and facilities. Blue Access for Members can help you locate in-network providers, including a PCP. Just log in to your Blue Access for Members account and click the Find Care tab. To choose or change your PCP, click on “Change PCP”, and follow the options to make your selection. If you need to find an in-network provider, click on “Find a Doctor or Hospital”to access Provider Finder®.
  2. Keep a digital copy of your medical ID card. Download the BCBSTX App to access your digital medical ID card and add it to your digital wallet. In Blue Access for Members, you can find your ID card at the top of your Dashboard.
  3. View your benefits and claims. From the Coverage tab, you can view the benefit highlights of your medical plan or download the Health Booklet for more details. If you need to view a claim, you can find a list of claims for the past 18 months on the Claims page. You can filter or search to find the claim you’re looking for and see the Explanation of Benefits for each claim.
  4. Check your referrals and prior authorizations on file. If you’re in the HealthSelect of Texas® plan, you need to get a referral from your PCP before you see most specialists. The HealthSelect of Texas, HealthSelectSM Out-of-State, and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM plans require prior authorization before you get certain services or tests. To make sure your referrals and prior authorizations are on file with BCBSTX, click on the Coverage tab and then Prior Authorizations and Referrals.
  5. Get rewarded with HealthSelectShoppERSSM. It pays to stay in the network and pays even more when you use HealthSelectShoppERS. When you and your eligible dependents use Provider Finder to shop and choose high-quality, lower-cost options for certain medical services or procedures, you can earn up to $500 in TexFlexSM flexible spending account (FSA) rewards each plan year.   6. Take advantage of wellness programs and resources. From the Wellness tab, you’ll find resources like WellonTarget®, weight management programs and the Fitness Program. You can also find educational resources about health topics like asthma, cholesterol, diabetes, pregnancy, stress and more.

How to register for Blue Access for Members

Take the following steps to register for Blue Access for Members.

  1. Visit www.healthselectoftexas.com and click on “Log In” in the upper right corner.
  2. Use the information on your medical ID card to create an account.
