Agreement Reached between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and Amarillo Medical Specialists

Through determined efforts on both sides, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) reached an agreement with Amarillo Medical Specialists. We’re pleased to let you know that Amarillo Medical Specialists providers rejoined the HealthSelect^SM network effective Aug. 1, 2026. Thank you for your patience as we worked on this issue. Our goal is to provide access to cost-effective, quality health care throughout Texas.

While Amarillo Medical Specialists are in the network as of 8/1/26, all parties are working to reflect this in the system. You may continue to experience slight inconveniences due to this. For example, if you have selected a new primary care provider (PCP) and would like to change back to your previously selected Amarillo Medical Specialist PCP, there may be a delay in your ability to submit that request through Blue Access for Members^SM because they are not visible in the system yet. You may call a BCBSTX Personal Health Assistant who will make note of your request until the update can be made. You will receive a new ID card reflecting your new PCP once your request has been completed.
