Your Health, Your Way

7/11/2022

Choosing a health plan that will help you move toward better health isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s hard to even know where to start! That’s why this year’s theme is Your Health, Your Way. It starts with understanding your options during Summer Enrollment so you can choose the HealthSelectSM medical plan that’s right for you and your eligible dependents. If you change medical plans, enroll in a new plan or add a dependent during the two-week Summer Enrollment phase assigned to you, your election for Plan Year 2023 will be effective on September 1, 2022.

Use these resources to choose Your Health, Your Way.

  • Your Health, Your Way Brochure: Explains health plan options, changes to medical benefits and how to access important resources. QR codes and links throughout the brochure will give you easy access to important information on the HealthSelect website.

Here’s what’s new for Plan Year 2023:

Increase in Total In-Network Out-of-Pocket Maximum

Effective January 1, 2023, the total in-network annual out-of-pocket maximum will increase for all HealthSelect plans, including Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM. The out-of-pocket maximum will increase to $7,050 for employee-only coverage and $14,100 for family coverage. The out-of-pocket maximum includes expenses you pay toward medical and prescription drug copays, coinsurance and deductibles (in-network deductibles apply only to the Consumer Directed HealthSelect plan).

Remember: It pays to stay in-network! There is no out-of-pocket maximum for out-of-network care.

Update to Benefits for Colonoscopies

As a reminder, preventive care, including colonoscopies and stool-based screenings, are covered at no cost to you. Starting September 1, 2022, a follow-up colonoscopies and related services received after a positive screening are covered at no cost to you when you use an in-network provider and facility.

Update to Benefits for Diagnostic Breast Imaging

Effective September 1, 2022, in-network breast imaging services covered at no cost to those enrolled in HealthSelect of Texas, HealthSelect Out-of-State and HealthSelectSM Secondary will include screening and diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds and MRIs. Out-of-network services will continue to be covered at 40% after the annual deductible is met. Additionally, Breast MRIs will no longer require prior authorization.

If you are enrolled in the Consumer Directed HealthSelect plan, deductible and coinsurance will apply unless the breast imaging is billed as preventive by your provider.
