Extra support for your health care goals
Well onTarget® is more than just a resource for overall health and wellness. It is custom built to fit your individual wellness needs and goals and can help you with specific goals.
For example, let’s say you are trying kick your tobacco habit, or you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes or prediabetes. Well onTarget offers programs that support your goals to get and stay healthy.
Ready to quit?
November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. According to the Centers for Disease Control, nearly 9 out of 10 lung cancers are caused by smoking cigarettes. The most important thing you can do to prevent lung cancer is to not start smoking, or to quit if you smoke.
If you’re ready to quit, you can start by checking out one of two tobacco cessation programs to help you reach your goal and stay tobacco free:
- Quitting Tobacco: This interactive program is for current tobacco users who want to quit. It helps you understand and overcome physical, mental and cultural factors that lead to addiction.
- Staying Tobacco Free: This interactive program is for people who have recently quit and need help staying tobacco free. It addresses subjects like trigger avoidance and social support.
The programs offer six weeks of content you can complete at your own pace. They both qualify for the ERS Choose to Quit program; however, approval is at your physician’s discretion.
If you want one-on-one help, Well onTarget’s coaching team includes experts on tobacco cessation and addiction. You can enroll in one coaching program at a time and work with a coach as long as you like. You can chat with your coach via phone and secure messaging through Well onTarget online or the AlwaysOn app.
If you are motivated by goal setting, you can also check out some tobacco related challenges in Well onTarget. “Kick the Habit” is a seven-day challenge that tasks you with creating a personal quit kit. “Better Together: Support to Help You Quit Smoking” lasts 30 days and challenges you to build a support network.
Diabetes support
Well onTarget also has resources for health conditions like prediabetes and diabetes. Depending on your specific situation, you could join one of two programs:
- Preventing Diabetes: This educational program provides an overview of diabetes and prediabetes, including risk factors, and teaches you how to lower your risk of developing diabetes and become healthier in the process.
- Living with Diabetes: This interactive program teaches the basics of diabetes and ways to control your diabetes for the long term.
You can also seek help from a Well onTarget coach who can help you with your nutrition or fitness routine to create healthy habits that can prevent the onset of diabetes or help you live healthier with diabetes. Well onTarget also has challenges related to nutrition and physical activity to keep you motivated to keep up with your new healthy habits.
